A surprise announcement that all Herb Kohl awards will double greeted Wisconsin students, teachers, and principals invited to the April 8 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation luncheon in Greendale to honor their selection as 2017 Herb Kohl award recipients.

Herb Kohl celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week with $500,000 matching grant to increase Wisconsin classroom support via donorschoose.org
Today, to celebrate the hard work and important contributions of teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, Herb Kohl announced additional support for Wisconsin teachers who post their classroom projects on the education crowdfunding site DonorsChoose.org. Herb Kohl Philanthropies will provide $500,000 in support for Wisconsin classrooms in the form of a dollar-for-dollar match toward Wisconsin’s classroom requests.
These resources are being donated to thank teachers for making a positive impact on the lives of Wisconsin youth.

2017 Herb Kohl Foundation Excellence Scholarship, Initiative Scholarship, Fellowship, and Leadership Award Recipients Announced
The selection committee for the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Scholarship, Fellowship, and Leadership Program has announced recipients of the 2017 Herb Kohl Foundation awards for students, teachers, and principals. Awards in the amount of $3,000 are being made to 100 teachers, 16 principals, and their schools, and $5,000 scholarships will be given to 207 graduating high school students.

Herb Kohl Funds All Teacher Requests on DonorsChoose.org
On September 6, 2016 Herb Kohl Philanthropies announced they are fully funding the classroom requests of every Wisconsin teacher posted on the education crowdfunding site Donors Choose.org. As a result of Herb Kohl's generosity approximately 600 WI teachers will receive materials for their 43,000 students totaling $500,000. Click on Download for more information.

Herb Kohl Foundation Increases Value of Student Scholarships
High school seniors, invited to a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation luncheon in Chippewa Falls on April 3 to honor their selection as Herb Kohl scholars, were stunned and delighted with the surprise announcement that all 2016 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation scholars will receive an additional $2,000 toward their scholarships, effective immediately. Herb Kohl Foundation Announces 2016 Award Recipients
The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has announced recipients of 2016 Herb Kohl Foundation awards for students, teachers, and -- new this year -- principals. The $3,000 awards are being made to 100 teachers and 16 principals and their schools, and 184 graduating high school students. They will be honored by Herb Kohl at regional luncheons in April. Herb Kohl Establishes Wisconsin Principal Recogniton Award
The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has announced the Outstanding Wisconsin Leadership Award for Wisconsin school principals and administrators. Beginning in 2016, twelve public school and four religious and independent school principals or school administrators will be recognized. Each will receive a $3,000 award, along with an additional $3,000 grant for his or her school. For more information, click on Download.

Roger King to represent WI in National Teacher of the Year competition
Roger King, an agriscience teacher at Holmen High School and Wisconsin's 2015-16 High School Teacher of the Year, will represent the state in the National Teacher of the Year program. As part of the honor of representing Wisconsin in the National Teacher of the Year program, King will receive $6,000 from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation. For details click on "Download".

Four 2015-16 Teachers of the Year announced
During surprise visits to their schools, four Wisconsin teachers were notified by State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Evers, that they had been selected 2015 Teachers of the Year. They are: Suzanne Devine, Northstar Middle School, Eau Claire; Roger King, Holmen High School, Holmen; Amy Reed, Kimberly High School, Kimberly; and Mai Shoua Xiong, Academy of Accelerated Learning, Milwaukee.
